I wish you could appreciate the intricate web of lines and creases that map your face, the sparkle in your eyes, the gentle curve of your lips. but you don't. you see only flaws, imperfections.

I stand before you, witnessing the ebbs, turns, and flows of your life. Every morning, I watch as you stir, rubbing the remnants of sleep from your eyes. You shuffle to me, blurry-eyed, and I reflect back the disheveled beauty that is you. you smoothen your hair, wipe the fragments of sleep from your eyes, as you wear your transformed flesh that you prepared for society to gaze upon.
As the day passes on, I see the weight of the world settle upon your shoulders. I see how your knees wobble, how it adds pain to every fibre of your being. Your eyes, that were once bright with promise, begin to dull under the pressure. you rush to prepare for the day ahead, barely glancing my way. But I noticed. I notice the way your eyes crinkle at the corners, the way your lips curve into a determined smile.
In the evening, you return to me, exhausted. your eyes are sunken, your skin pale. You peel away the layers of the day, revealing the vulnerable soul beneath—who you really are. You gaze into my depths, searching for answers to the questions that plague you. But do you see what I see? The strength in your eyes; the resilience in your spirit?
And then, in the still of midnight, you stand before me once more. This time, your eyes are filled with doubt, your brow furrowed with worry. You question yourself, your choices, your very existence. But I see the beauty in your uncertainty. I see the courage in your vulnerability.
I wish you could see what I see. I wish you could appreciate the intricate web of lines and creases that map your face, the sparkle in your eyes, the gentle curve of your lips. But you don't. you see only flaws, imperfections. You see only what you think is wrong.
But I see the truth. I see your beauty, your strength, your resilience. And I wish, oh how I wish, that you could see it too. ✦
