ILLUSTRATION BY MERIDETH SCHROMBERG ON BEHANCE

A life is like a monochrome,
A rhythm that repeats with every heartbeat,
In a gentle breeze, a ripple forms,
Awakening; the flow of water shifts

Sleep, wake up, eat, work and repeat,
It's like a never-ending cycle to live for,
Out with friends, In with family, repeat,
Just another fun to add the in the list of cycle

In a daze, one find themselves in a state,
A state of dilemma that they can't seem to ignore,
Suddenly, they were drawn into someone,
Giving them the chance to feel the rainbow

At a tender glance,
There's a laughter that captivated a heart,
In every smile, there's a spark aflame,
Watching the beauty dance with its radiant glow,

A normalcy they believed; a fleeting time,
A shadow slowly creeping in,
Restless spirit gnawing in chest,
Subtle torment, torn by a flickering breeze

Unspoken yearning, so deep and dark,
The gentleness but a twisted desire,
A daily dose of glimpse, so enticing,
There's fire hidden, a feigning dream

That once upon a life,
Turning into once upon a dose,
A hope for new design; breaking in cycle,
Love that thought was it

The once continuous activity,
Broken by the word love,
Become a twisted horror,
Every move was calculated by a bound destiny.
